Re: Perfect Morning - (Revisited!)

I do like the way you describe your walks and the photos are lovely. Pity there is not a 'like' button, so I could just give you the thumbs up that I have read this. Fungi coming up in abundance here, just wish it would stop raining so I could get out and take more photos.

Two for ID please

the first growing under beech, no particular smell, when cut colour which is pale yellow (camera does not pick this up) remains the same and shows no bruising, the spores are very pale buff The second I thought was slime mould, but obviously is not, it seems quite bubbly with in places what looks li...

Aleuria ID

Is this Aleuria aurantia? it has only just started to appear running along side a large circle of Clustered Tough shank (Gymnopus confluens) among wet beech debris on peat/rocky ground. I know you say take spore prints but not sure how to with these, no particular smell. Should I wait till they get ...

Re: Is this a crust or bracket type fungi

Thanks Chris. They do look a bit like the photo. There were lots of patches of these around the forest floor but I could see no sign of the original tree trunk - no raised ground or even dips where the original tree would have fallen. The domed raised centres within the circles also puzzled me as I ...

Is this a crust or bracket type fungi

I presumed that these are on an old fallen tree and possibly where branches once were. I am trying to work out what has caused this formation of patterned circles round a raised middle. There were a number of patches like this in Sutherland's Grove, Barcaldine. Any ideas?

Re: Ok so probably a silly question

OK so took a wander and apart from Boletus calopus and Cantharellus there is an amazing amount of peziza vesiculosa, most I have ever seen here. Usually only see a few 'clumps' here and there but this looks like it is trying to form a carpet all over woodland area floor. (You will probably correct m...

Re: Ok so probably a silly question

Thanks for the info Roy. I intend to have a good foray this weekend - if it stops raining. I might find something new here, with the odd weather a number of plants not seen here before have appeared so it might be the same on the fungi front.
