Betony fungus

Post by markwilson » Sat May 04, 2019 5:48 pm

Is this Synchytrium aureum on Betony (Betonica officinalis) from West Somerset. Leaves were noticably pale. Thanks

Possibly, but one can't rule out developing Puccinia betonicae, which looks like this in its early stages and would be far more likely. I'd check back in a month or so. Any micro-shots?
cheers

Hi Chris

Thanks for reply

I'll look later _ I'd thought of P betonicae but it seemed rather yellow?

Sorry no microshots

Regards

Mark
