Oomycete - Peronospora chenopodii-polyspermi

Post by JennyS » Mon Jun 10, 2019 6:53 pm

I hope its ok to post an Oomycete - Peronospora chenopodii-polyspermi causing noticeable yellow patches on leaves of Chenopodium polyspernum in Dorset yesterday. No idea what the distribution might be as there are no records on the NBN but I doubt if that means much!

Nice find Jenny -
Perhaps the Rusts, Smuts and Mildews thread might be more appropriate - but no big deal. . .
not a species I know, the host is rather rare as far north as Yorkshire; I think I've only seen it here once, back in the 1980s W of Sheffield.

I'm assuming you have come across https://www.researchgate.net/publicatio ... gures?lo=1

This gives minimal info on previous GB & I collections which have been retained at Kew:

Hi Jenny,

Most certainly! - Anything and everything concerned with the world of UK fungi is more than welcome.

As per Chris's suggestion, I've moved the topic into this forum. - (It may be more relevant here for anyone searching in future).

Regards,
Mike.
