Re: A few lichens on this rock
Hi Adam - white one = Ochrolechia parella, yellow = Xanthoria parietina.
Details not clear enough on the brown one but its either Xanthoparmelia pulla, X. loxodes or Melanelixia fuliginosa

Re: A few lichens on this rock
What are the small pink blobs where the rock is cracked?
(They are vaguely myxo like, but I can't make out any detail).
Regards,
Mike.

They're a plant, some kind of succulent, I suppose.Lancashire Lad wrote:What are the small pink blobs where the rock is cracked?

Ah yes, I see it now.adampembs wrote:They're a plant, some kind of succulent, I suppose.
I don't know why I couldn't see it before, and was thinking they were individual pink blobs, (a bit like dehiscing Arcyria denudata) but they are obviously red succulent "leaves" - probably of a Stonecrop - maybe Sedum anglicum.

Mike.

Thanks for the extra image - probably Xanthoparmelia pulla and yes, Sedum anglicum for the succulent red leaves
