Paxillus cuprinus.
It prefers open ground rather than woodland and has "pinched" spores like

rather than the standard spores of P involutus

Mal
I would just issue a word of caution about using "open ground" as anything but the possibility of P. cuprinus. Today I collected a portion of a Paxillus fruitbody in amenity grassland with scattered trees, by the inner ring road in central Huddersfield, the mycorrhizal partner either being a lime Tilia sp. or Himalayan tree-cotoneaster Cotoneaster frigidus. The spores were classic P. involutus - btw thanks for the image of cuprinus spores, Mal. I did also check the cap cuticle to rule out ammoniavirescens. You really do need to use a microscope if you are not happy with Paxillus sp. these days.
